VHS Tapes

These are the large tapes that fit into standard VCR players. Generally the most played of formats, VHS tapes can degrade substantially after subsequent viewings, making a transfer to DVD a must for frequently watched VHS movies.

VHS-C Tapes

Small tapes from a camcorder, VHS-C can fit inside larger VHS adapter tapes to play them in a VCR. As they are an analogue format, these tapes can degrade over time.

Hi8 Video Tapes

Hi-8 tapes look identical to 8mm tapes, but record a better quality signal. This is a relatively modern analogue format capable of recording up to 90 minutes of video on a single cassette.
